The core split

70% creator, 30% platform on every install. Founding creators (first 500 published personas) get 80/20 for life. The platform share covers hosting, identity verification, payment rails, support, and the safety review layer.

How residuals work

A persona sale is not a one-off. Buyers pay a subscription or renewable fee to keep the persona installed. As long as it is installed and active, the creator earns proportionally. This is deliberate — the Hollywood residual model has the right incentive shape: creators earn more when their persona is continually valued.

If a buyer cancels, residuals stop for that buyer. If 1,000 buyers hold a subscription across a year, the creator earns across all of them continuously.

The actor-association consultations

We consulted with voice-actor associations before launching the residual model (UK Equity voice-over group, SAG-AFTRA new-media committees, and several independent voice-actor collectives). The consultations changed four things:

Consent-specific purpose tagging. A persona cannot be repurposed into a category the actor did not explicitly consent to. Early drafts allowed broader default purposes; actors pushed back and we narrowed it.
Training-data exclusion. We contractually cannot use an actor’s voice to train a generic voice model. The persona is installed as-is, not used to bootstrap other voices.
Revocation with notice. Actors can revoke their voice with 90 days notice. Installed users get the notice period; after it, the persona stops working.
Monthly statements. Detailed statements showing installs, renewals, and exact earnings per buyer — not aggregate. This is more transparent than earlier drafts.

Heir inheritance

The estate manifest declares up to five beneficiaries with share percentages summing to 100. On verified passing of the creator, royalties transfer to the beneficiaries pro-rata. Each beneficiary signs their own Stripe Connect account; payouts happen independently.

The verification path is: death certificate + beneficiary identity verification. We do this via a partner KYC provider and do not require solicitor involvement (though many families use one anyway).

Tax handling

Creators are responsible for income tax on their residuals. The platform handles buyer-side VAT at purchase. Creators in the US, UK, EU, and several other jurisdictions receive automated tax forms where required. International payouts via Stripe Connect are available in 120+ countries.

Payout schedule

Monthly payouts, 7 days after close of month. £20 / equivalent minimum; below that, earnings roll forward. Statements list every install, every renewal, every refund, so you can match your books to ours.

Refunds, chargebacks, disputes

Refunds within the 14-day window reverse the residual proportionally. Chargebacks net against the current cycle. Disputes (e.g. a buyer claims the persona was not as described) go through the GeraNexus dispute flow.

What changed vs early drafts

We originally had a 60/40 rev-share. The first round of actor consultations pushed us to 70/30. Our view: 70% is the right number; 80% for founding creators is the right bonus to bootstrap the catalogue. If the economics of running the platform improve, we intend to raise the creator share rather than add features.

What we refuse to do

Bundle actor voices without their explicit consent.
Discount your voice at a steeper rate than you approved.
Use your voice in promotional material without your approval.
Continue a persona after your consent has been revoked.
